Custody suits and what they do to a child?
Parent alienation syndrome is a problem most common in today’s world. The breaking of so many marriages has resulted in such a trouble for small innocent children and hence has given birth to a need of finding solutions to how to tackle the problem best when it is spreading like a menace in the society.
Usually custody suits are the main reason that triggers that parent alienation syndrome in many cases. When the child is unable to choose between the two of his parents, his mind gets disturbed and it becomes nearly impossible for him or her to make a decision in many cases. A disturbed child behaves outrageously and usually blames both or either one of the parents of having him put into such a situation.
A divorce mainly has one reason basic, the couple cannot opt to live together anymore with peace. Huge fights, conflicts and even violence against each other at times results in children being emotionally disturbed bringing about them the first initial stages of the parental alienation syndrome.
Feelings are high during a custody battle and it becomes the issue of pride and prestige of the male member of the couple whereas love and motherhood compels the female to win over the child. It is during custody issues after a divorce that children become another of an asset that has to be either divided amongst the two partners or has to be shared with timelines. Think what it would do to the innocent mind of a child who has no idea what is going on with him.
It is absolutely necessary to combat the issue of parent alienation syndrome within a child. It is not difficult at all. With the right amount to care and procedure followed, a child can easily ease himself out of this problem with any wounds that can mar his personality for the rest of his lifetime. Normally in concern for the child both the mothers and the fathers want the case to be over without delays and without any hassle. They want to settle the case for the sake of their child’s well being but fear that it would result in them losing their child and all access they might be able to have to him or her. The court normally rules in favor of the mother but what about the father who equally shares the love for the child. This emotional tug of war between the parents tends to destroy the personality of the child without even making them realize it.
Parent alienation syndrome is no doubt a huge problem but many families working together have managed to combat this situation all too often. Consultations with therapists for the whole family, a good and common ground of understanding between the separating parents and a choice with the child to chose whomever he wants to spend his time with, without any tricks or pressurizing, might affect how the child pulls out of the whole troubling situation. Joint custody is also a good and suitable solution for helping a child step out of his problems of parent alienation syndrome.
